LESCO bill check online: reference number, customer ID and duplicate bill (2026)
Your 14-digit reference number is all you need: open the LESCO portal, download the duplicate bill free, and see what each unit costs under the current NEPRA slabs.

Checked 8 October 2026: the slab rates below still match NEPRA's notified domestic tariff for the ex-WAPDA distribution companies under SRO 279(I)/2026 (February 2026), as published in IESCO's tariff guide, and no newer residential SRO has replaced it. The rates apply to households with a sanctioned load of up to 5 kW. New in this check: the two lifeline rates (Rs 3.95 and Rs 7.74 a unit) for the smallest users, below.

To do a LESCO bill check online, all you need is the 14-digit reference number from any old bill. LESCO, the Lahore Electric Supply Company, is the government distribution company for Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib. It serves over 7.3 million customers, the largest of the ten distribution companies. Its bills are checked, downloaded and paid online through the same system every WAPDA-descended company uses, so once you have done it once you can do it for a relative anywhere in the country.
What you need before you start
Any old LESCO bill, paper or a photo of one. Two numbers on it work:
- Reference number: 14 digits, printed at the top left of the bill. A single letter, U or R, is printed at the end of it; the online form asks for that letter separately.
- Customer ID: 7 digits, printed just above the reference number on newer bills. LESCO's own SMS registration form asks for "the 7 digits Customer ID" from the bill.
The reference number is tied to the meter and never changes, so a bill from two years ago is as good as last month's. If you have no bill at all, the reference number is also on the meter installation card and on the sticker some meter readers leave; failing that, LESCO's helpline (118 from any phone) can read it back to you against the CNIC the connection is registered to.
LESCO bill check online, step by step
- Open https://www.lesco.gov.pk/Modules/CustomerBillNC/CheckBill.asp in any browser. LESCO runs its own bill page on lesco.gov.pk rather than the shared PITC address; the form is the same.
- Choose Reference No (or Customer ID if that is the number you have).
- Type the 14 digits with no spaces. Pick U or R from the small box beside it to match the letter on your bill; the default is U.
- Press the search button. The current month's bill opens as an image of the printed bill: units used, the tariff slabs applied, taxes and duties, the due date, the amount payable within due date and the higher amount payable after due date.
- To keep a copy, use the print or download option on the page, or your browser's print to PDF. Banks and offices accept this duplicate bill as they would the paper one.
The page shows the latest bill only. Older bills are not kept on the public portal; for a history, ask at the sub-division office with the reference number, or use the company app, which keeps recent months. LESCO also has the LESCO Consumer Facilitation app on Google Play, which shows the same bill once you add your reference number.
Reading the amount
Two figures matter. Payable within due date is what you pay on time. Payable after due date includes the late payment surcharge; pay that amount once the due date has passed, and expect the surcharge to appear on the next bill if you paid the lower figure late. Bills arrive roughly a month after the reading date, and the due date is usually about ten days after the bill is issued, so a bill you first see online may already be close to due.
If the units look wrong, compare the present reading printed on the bill with what the meter shows now. A reading far above the meter means an estimated or mistaken bill; that is a helpline or sub-division complaint, and the correction comes as a revised bill, not a refund.
Paying it
Any bank app or internet banking that offers bill payment (the 1Link network), JazzCash and Easypaisa, bank branches, post offices and NADRA e-Sahulat outlets all take LESCO bills against the reference number. Online payments post to the account within a day or two; keep the transaction ID until the next bill shows the payment.
What a unit costs you
LESCO does not set the rate. NEPRA notifies one domestic tariff for all the ex-WAPDA distribution companies, so a unit costs the same in Lahore as it does in Multan or Peshawar. These are the notified slabs:
Lifeline (the smallest households, no fixed charge, no slab benefit):
| Units | Rate per unit |
|---|---|
| Up to 50 | Rs 3.95 |
| 1 to 100 | Rs 7.74 |
Protected (under 200 units for six consecutive months):
| Units | Rate per unit | Fixed charge |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 100 | Rs 10.54 | Rs 200 per kW per month |
| 101 to 200 | Rs 13.01 | Rs 300 per kW per month |
Unprotected (everyone else):
| Units | Rate per unit | Fixed charge |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 100 | Rs 22.44 | Rs 275 per kW per month |
| 101 to 200 | Rs 28.91 | Rs 300 per kW per month |
| 201 to 300 | Rs 33.10 | Rs 350 per kW per month |
| 301 to 400 | Rs 36.46 | Rs 400 per kW per month |
| 401 to 500 | Rs 38.95 | Rs 500 per kW per month |
| 501 to 600 | Rs 40.22 | Rs 675 per kW per month |
| 601 to 700 | Rs 41.85 | Rs 675 per kW per month |
| Above 700 | Rs 47.20 | Rs 675 per kW per month |
Look at the gap between the two tables. A protected household on 200 units pays Rs 13.01 a unit. An unprotected one on 201 units pays Rs 33.10 a unit, on every unit, not just the one over the line. That single extra unit can more than double the bill, and it takes six months back under 200 to undo it.
Every residential bill also carries a minimum monthly customer charge of Rs 75 (single-phase) or Rs 150 (three-phase). Protected households get the benefit of one previous slab; lifeline households get none.
These are the base slab rates only. Your bill also carries the quarterly tariff adjustment, the monthly fuel price adjustment, electricity duty, TV licence fee, GST and, above certain amounts, income tax. That is why the amount payable is always well above units multiplied by the slab rate.
Why the bill jumps
Residential tariff is slab-based, and a household that stays under 200 units for six consecutive months is billed as protected at much lower rates. Crossing 200 units once moves the whole bill to the unprotected slabs, and it takes six months under 200 to get back. Our electricity bill calculator shows the slab-by-slab arithmetic for any number of units on the current NEPRA tariff, and the LESCO page has the company's contacts and the other companies' portals.
Complaints and the helpline
Dial 118 for power failures and billing complaints, or text 8118. The Power Information Technology Company (PITC) runs the complaint system for all the distribution companies, so the same numbers work from any network. For a wrong reading, take the bill and a photo of the meter to the sub-division office named on the bill; for detection bills (theft or tampering allegations) you have a right to a hearing, and NEPRA's consumer complaint cell is the next step if the company does not resolve it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I check the bill by SMS? No. The distribution companies do not send bills by SMS; the online portal, the company app and the paper bill are the channels. Any site or number promising SMS bills is a third party.
Is there a fee for the online duplicate bill? No. The portal is free and needs no login.
The portal says "no record found". Check the letter (U or R) and count the digits: 14 for the reference number, 7 for the customer ID. New connections take a billing cycle to appear.
Why does my bill show arrears? An unpaid previous month, a late payment surcharge, or an adjustment (a fuel price adjustment, a quarterly tariff adjustment) approved by NEPRA and applied to everyone in that month. Adjustments are printed as separate lines on the bill.
Can I change the name on the bill? Yes, at the sub-division office, with proof of ownership or tenancy and the CNIC; the reference number stays the same.
Correction, 2 October 2026: the protected rate for up to 100 units was given as Rs 11.05; the notified rate under SRO 279(I)/2026 is Rs 10.54, as published in the DISCOs' tariff guides.
Correction, 14 October 2026: this guide said the customer ID has 10 digits. A LESCO customer ID has 7 digits, as printed on the bill and as LESCO's SMS registration form asks for; a reader pointed it out.
