Xpeng L03 range-extender EV launches in Pakistan on 12 October with a claimed 1,100 km range
Xpeng says the L03 REEV covers 250 km on electricity alone and about 1,100 km with its range extender. Prices and bookings open at Monday's launch.

The Xpeng L03, a range-extended electric car, launches in Pakistan on Monday 12 October, ProPakistani reported. The price, booking amount and variants will be announced at the launch.
What Xpeng has revealed so far
| Xpeng's claim | |
|---|---|
| Type | Range-extended EV (REEV) |
| Electric-only range | 250 km |
| Combined range with range extender | About 1,100 km |
| DC fast charging | Up to 123 kW |
| 10% to 90% charge | About 20 minutes |
Battery size, engine details, the full feature list and whether the car will be assembled locally or imported built up have not been published.
What a range extender is
A REEV is driven by its electric motor all the time. A small petrol engine does not turn the wheels; it works as a generator that recharges the battery once it runs low. In practice that means city driving on cheap home electricity and long trips without hunting for a charger, which is why Chinese makers are pushing this format in markets where fast chargers are still scarce, Pakistan included.
How it fits Pakistan's market
Chinese brands now lead Pakistan's new-energy segment, with BYD, Changan, MG, Haval and Deepal among those selling plug-in hybrids and EVs. A 250 km electric range covers a week of commuting in Lahore or Karachi for most drivers, and the range extender answers the usual worry about a Lahore to Islamabad motorway run. BYD is separately studying ultra-fast chargers for Pakistan.
Running costs
The saving depends on how much of your driving is on the battery. PSO's ex-depot Karachi petrol price is Rs 398.30 a litre on 11 October (petrol price page); compare that with what a full charge costs at your home tariff using our fuel cost calculator and electricity bill calculator. If you finance the car, the car loan calculator shows the monthly instalment, and the car registration tax calculator the first-time registration cost. We will add the price once Xpeng announces it.
