Cricket Australia has named fresh one-day and Twenty20 squads for the home white-ball series against England, with Mitchell Marsh captaining both sides and fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood rested, ARY News reported on 2 November. Australia play three ODIs between 13 and 18 November, followed by five T20s.

Squads

ODI squad: Mitchell Marsh (captain), Xavier Bartlett, Mahli Beardman, Alex Carey, Cooper Connolly, Jack Edwards, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Spencer Johnson, Ollie Peake, Matt Renshaw, Liam Scott and Adam Zampa.

T20 squad: Mitchell Marsh (captain), Xavier Bartlett, Mahli Beardman, Nikhil Chaudhary, Tim David, Joel Davies, Jack Edwards, Nathan Ellis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Sam Harper, Spencer Johnson, Mitch Owen, Lachlan Shaw and Adam Zampa.

Who plays where

Test players Travis Head, Alex Carey, Matt Renshaw, Josh Inglis, Cooper Connolly and Cameron Green are in the ODI squad but will not play the T20s. Lachlan Shaw and Sam Harper are the two uncapped players. Batters Ollie Peake and Jake Fraser-McGurk are also included.

Chairman of selectors George Bailey said the matches give several players, many of whom have had recent opportunities on tour, a chance to show their ability against strong opposition. He said the Test players are being managed through a demanding schedule, with a home Test series against New Zealand to follow.

Context

Australia lost the Test series in South Africa 2-1, and the selectors say the series is also a way for the next generation to stake a claim ahead of the 2027 World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Pakistan fans can follow this series through the usual Pakistan-time broadcast slots, and fixtures involving Pakistan are listed on our match centre. Broadcast details for this series have not been confirmed in the sources we checked.
