Rachin Ravindra and Mark Chapman will miss New Zealand's five-match ODI series against India, which starts at Eden Park on Wednesday 4 November, ESPNcricinfo reported. An MRI scan showed Chapman's left hamstring needs another two weeks of rehabilitation, and Ravindra's right shoulder needs more time before he can field at full strength.

Who comes in

  • Tim Seifert: first named for only the last two ODIs, now in for the whole series. He hit 93 as New Zealand won the fifth T20I in Hamilton, though India took that series 3-2.
  • Henry Nicholls: added for the first three ODIs. He turns 35 this month.
  • Dean Foxcroft: joins for the last two matches after playing in the New Zealand A against India A red-ball series.

"Everyone knows what an asset Mark and Rachin are to this side so it's a shame they have to miss this series," New Zealand head coach Rob Walter said.
