New Zealand vs India, the fourth T20I of the five-match series, is under way in Auckland, and it is the most searched cricket match in Pakistan today, with more than 50,000 Google searches for "new zealand vs india" by midday PKT. India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl, his fourth toss win of the tour, ESPNcricinfo reported.

India have already won the series, leading 3-0, so the last two games are about a 5-0 sweep for the visitors and pride for New Zealand.

Two changes for India, one for New Zealand

India made two changes from the side that sealed the series earlier this week:

  • Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper) returns in place of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, which breaks up the opening pair that put on 118 in the powerplay, the highest powerplay score in T20I history, after just one game.
  • Fast bowler Mayank Yadav replaces Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Iyer said India would not ease off with the series won. "It's important to be ruthless," he said at the toss, adding that he felt the job was only half done.

New Zealand swapped one seam-bowling allrounder for another: Nathan Smith comes in for Kyle Jamieson. Captain Mitchell Santner admitted his side's fielding had not been good enough in the series.

Playing XIs

India: Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan (wk), Shreyas Iyer (capt), Tilak Varma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Naman Dhir, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Mayank Yadav, Prince Yadav.

New Zealand: Finn Allen, Tim Seifert (wk), Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Bevon Jacobs, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner (capt), Nathan Smith, Adam Milne, Jacob Duffy, Matt Fisher.

Why New Zealand are under pressure batting first

Batting first has not worked for New Zealand in this series. Their highest T20I total in Auckland, 243, still ended in defeat, and ESPNcricinfo describes the ground as even more chase-friendly than the format already is, so Santner's side needs a very big total tonight. When we checked ESPNcricinfo's live score in the seventh over, New Zealand were 85 for 2.

How to follow it in Pakistan

The match is being played in the New Zealand evening, which is around midday and early afternoon in Pakistan. ESPNcricinfo carries the ball-by-ball score. For Pakistan's own cricket, the ODI tri-series final against Sri Lanka is at the Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday: see our tri-series schedule and results page and how to watch on Tamasha.

We will add the result to this page once the match ends.
