Oman vs Nepal: Nepal bat first in CWC League 2 finale needing a win to finish above Canada
Nepal were 134 for 3 after 31.4 overs at Al Amerat. A win lifts them to 30 points, one clear of Canada, in the race for the top six.

Oman vs Nepal (OMA vs NEP), ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2, Monday 19 October: Nepal were 134 for 3 after 31.4 overs at Al Amerat after winning the toss and batting first, ESPNcricinfo's live scorecard showed at about 12:30pm PKT. Dev Khanal top-scored with 57 off 65 balls, and captain Rohit Paudel (17 not out) and Dipendra Singh Airee (22 not out off 19) were rebuilding. It is Nepal's last match of the League 2 cycle, and the result decides where they finish.
This page is updated with the result. Play started at 9:30am in Oman (10:30am PKT) and the second session runs to 5pm Oman time, 6pm PKT.
What the result means for Nepal
Nepal went into the game on 28 points from 35 matches, the Kathmandu Post reported after their 24-run defeat by Canada on Saturday. Canada have finished their campaign on 29 points. A win in League 2 is worth two points, so:
- Nepal win: 30 points, one ahead of Canada.
- Nepal lose: they stay on 28, one behind Canada.
The race matters because a top-six finish keeps a team's ODI status for the next League 2 cycle, the Kathmandu Post and Ratopati reported before this tri-series. The top three, the USA, Scotland and the Netherlands, have already qualified for the World Cup Qualifier, according to Ratopati, and Nepal were already out of that race.
