Bitcoin back at $82,000 after Trump rules out Iran strikes: Rs 2.29 crore a coin
Bitcoin bounced from $80,300 as oil eased on Trump's promise not to hit Iran before the midterms. The price in rupees and the levels traders are watching.

Bitcoin climbed back to about $82,000 on Friday 9 October after US President Donald Trump said the United States would not attack Iran before the 3 November midterm elections, CoinDesk reported. Selling stopped near $80,300 on Thursday night once Trump's post appeared.
Bitcoin price today in rupees
At the site's 12:15pm PKT reading, bitcoin was $82,496 and ether $2,497. At the interbank dollar rate of Rs 277.01 recorded at the same time, that puts one bitcoin at about Rs 2.29 crore (Rs 22.85 million) and one ether at about Rs 6.92 lakh. Why crypto fell, and why it bounced
Two things hit prices on Thursday:
- War risk. Axios reported on 7 October that the Pentagon had told US Central Command to prepare to resume major combat in Iran. US crude (WTI) jumped from $89 to $93.20 a barrel. After Trump's post, in which he called talks with Iran "productive" but said the US blockade would stay, oil fell back to about $90.69 and crypto recovered.
- Quantum fears. Worries that advances in AI and computing could weaken the cryptography behind bitcoin and ether added to the selling. Coinbase's Yehuda Lindell dismissed the worry as "FUD", while Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said the risk is real and pointed to lattice-based cryptography as the answer, CoinDesk reported.
Ether, XRP and Solana trimmed Thursday's losses but were still down on the day at the time of CoinDesk's report: ether near $2,503, XRP at $1.41 and Solana at $110.68.
Levels traders are watching
Analysts quoted by CoinDesk see $81,000 as support and $82,000 as resistance. A break below $81,000 could send bitcoin towards $80,000 and then $77,200; a move up to $83,300 and $85,500 would need stronger inflows into the US bitcoin ETFs.
What it means for crypto holders in Pakistan
Crypto prices in Pakistan follow the dollar price, so the rupee value moves with both bitcoin and the dollar rate. This week's swing shows how quickly news from the Gulf, which also drives petrol prices here, can move crypto too. Treat any platform that promises fixed returns with caution.
