Private MBBS admission 2026 in Punjab opens: apply on the UHS portal by 6 November for 4,500 seats

Private medical college admission 2026 in Punjab is open: the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore started taking MBBS applications for private colleges on Friday 23 October, and the last date to apply is Friday 6 November 2026 at 5pm. The first merit list comes out on 18 November. Applications go through one central portal, privatembbs.uhs.edu.pk, not through individual colleges.

About 4,500 MBBS seats at 34 private medical colleges are on offer this year, ProPakistani reported. BDS admissions for 1,100 seats at 18 private dental colleges open later, on 18 December.

Key dates for private MBBS and BDS admissions

Once your name is on a list, you get three days to pay the fee and join the college. Miss that window and the seat moves to the next candidate, so have the fee arranged before the list is out. The portal itself warns that incomplete applications will not be considered after the deadline.

Who can apply

Candidates from every province and overseas Pakistanis can apply, as long as they meet the minimums:

• MBBS: at least 55% in MDCAT and at least 60% in FSc pre-medical or an equivalent.
• BDS: at least 50% in MDCAT and at least 60% in FSc pre-medical or an equivalent.

How to apply, step by step

1. Create an account on privatembbs.uhs.edu.pk with your email and CNIC, B-Form or passport number.
2. Read the prospectus 2026-27 linked on the portal for the documents and the college list.
3. Fill in your marks and upload documents exactly as they appear on your certificates.
4. Rank your colleges. Look at each college's fee, location and hospital before you put it high on your list; private fees differ widely and are set by each college.
5. Submit before 5pm on 6 November. Do not leave it to the last hour, when the portal is busiest.

What this means for you

With roughly 4,500 private seats and far more MDCAT passes than that, the order in which you rank colleges matters as much as your aggregate. A strong student who lists only the most expensive Lahore colleges can miss out, while one who adds good colleges in Faisalabad, Multan or Gujranwala gets placed in the first list. Keep the three-day joining window in mind and keep your fee ready.
