Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gilani welcome their first child, a baby boy

Mawra Hocane and her husband, actor Ameer Gilani, have become parents. The couple announced the birth of their first child, a baby boy, on Instagram on Friday, 23 October, The Express Tribune reported.

Ameer posted a moment from the hospital in which he recites a prayer for his newborn son, with a caption giving the name they have chosen and its meaning: lion. Mawra shared the news on her Instagram Story with a short note: "Our little secret ... is yours. We could fully do with some extra prayers and love."

The couple had not announced a pregnancy or held a gender reveal, which is why the news took most fans by surprise. Many congratulated them for keeping it private until the baby arrived. The date of birth and the hospital were not shared, and we have not named the child here.

Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gilani: from Sabaat to marriage

The two first worked together in the drama serial Sabaat and were paired again in Neem. After years of speculation about their relationship, they confirmed it and married in February 2025, and their wedding celebrations were widely followed.

Mawra Hocane is one of Pakistan's best-known television actors, with lead roles in Sammi, Sabaat and Qissa Meherbano Ka. Indian audiences know her from the Bollywood romance Sanam Teri Kasam. Ameer Gilani's credits include Sabaat, Neem and the web series Very Filmy.
