Gajab Raat, Manoj Bajpayee's new crime thriller, is out on Netflix from today, Friday 23 October 2026. "Gajab Raat" was among the rising Google searches in Pakistan on Friday, and the film skips theatres entirely, The Week reported.

What it is about

Bajpayee plays Ajay Dixit, a corrupt police officer whose night changes when a young girl is thrown from a speeding vehicle. Investigating the case drags him into conflicting witness statements, bribes and a conspiracy that reaches beyond India. Neeraj Pandey, whose company is behind the Special 26 and Baby films and the Special Ops series, produced it.

Bajpayee has described the story as one flawed man's journey that does not stand for any caste, religion or community.

Why the title changed

The film was first announced as Ghooskhor Pandat. After objections that the title linked a community with corruption, the makers withdrew it and released the film under the new name, unveiling it with the official trailer, Free Press Journal reported. Bajpayee said the change was made out of respect for public feeling.
