Systems Limited nine-month profit up 14% to Rs 9.09 billion as sales jump 33% to Rs 76.5 billion
Pakistan's biggest listed IT company grew fastest in North America and the Middle East, but margins slipped and there is no dividend this quarter.
Systems Limited (PSX: SYS) made a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 9.085 billion in the nine months to September 2026, up 14% from Rs 7.973 billion a year earlier, according to results reported on Monday by ProPakistani. Earnings per share rose to Rs 5.93 from Rs 5.21. The company announced no dividend.
The numbers
| Jan to Sep 2026 | Jan to Sep 2025 | Change | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Net sales | Rs 76.492 billion | +33% | |
| Profit after tax | Rs 9.085 billion | Rs 7.973 billion | +14% |
| EPS | Rs 5.93 | Rs 5.21 | +14% |
| Selling and distribution costs | Rs 2.716 billion | +31% | |
| Administrative costs | Rs 6.340 billion | +42% | |
| Finance costs | Rs 499 million | +103% |
For the third quarter alone (July to September), profit was Rs 3.035 billion, up 9%, or Rs 1.98 a share.
Where the growth came from
Topline Securities, quoted by ProPakistani, said third-quarter sales grew 26% in the Middle East and 41% in North America. The Gulf business kept expanding despite the regional conflict, and North America was lifted partly by the acquisition of Confiz.
The weak spot is margins. The gross margin fell to about 25% in the third quarter from roughly 30% a year earlier, as costs rose in most regions. The exception was Pakistan, where the domestic margin improved to 21% from 16%.
What it means
Profit grew less than half as fast as sales: Systems is getting bigger mainly by buying and hiring, and costs (administrative expenses up 42%, finance costs doubled) are eating into each rupee of revenue. For shareholders, the absence of a dividend means the return this year rests on the share price.
Systems earns most of its revenue in dollars and dirhams, so a stable rupee (about Rs 276.8 to the dollar on our dollar rate page) keeps its rupee earnings steady. The wider market is on our KSE-100 page. If you hold shares, our capital gains tax calculator works out the tax on a sale.
