Ufone number check code and balance 2026: what works, and what does not
Ufone has no code that reads out your own number. Here are the codes that are actually on ufone.com, what UShare and UAdvance really cost, and the five ways to find your number.

Start with the part most pages get wrong: Ufone does not publish a standalone dial code that reads out your own number. The codes circulating in WhatsApp forwards and on copycat blogs are not on Ufone's website, and some short codes subscribe you to a paid service on the first press.
What Ufone does publish, and what actually works, is below. Every code here is on ufone.com.
The Ufone codes that are on Ufone's own site
| What you want | Code | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Balance inquiry | *124# | The one people actually mean by "Ufone check code" |
| Bill amount inquiry (postpay) | *129# | Free to access, shows total billed to date and minimum payment |
| Recharge a scratch card (prepaid) | *123*card number# | Free of cost |
| Recharge a scratch card (postpay) | *126*card number# | Free of cost |
| Service activation (postpay) | *125# | Free of cost |
| Remaining bundle resources | *706# | Shows what is left of a UPower bundle and its validity |
| Send balance (UShare) | *828*number*amount# | Rs 4.78 a transfer |
| Advance balance (UAdvance) | *456# | Up to Rs 60, 30 per cent fee |
| Helpline | 333 | From a Ufone number, or 033-11-333-100 from any phone |
| Activate SMS roaming | Blank SMS to 766 | SMS costs Rs 1.79 including tax |
| Deactivate SMS roaming | Blank SMS to 765 | SMS costs Rs 1.79 including tax |
Anything not on that list, treat as unverified.
How to find your own Ufone number
Five methods, in the order they actually work.
Ring another phone. Call any handset you can see and read the number off its screen. Free, instant, and it needs no code at all. If your balance is dead, use a landline or ask someone to ring you back.
Open the My Ufone app. It shows your number, your balance, and what is left of your bundle, and it handles recharges and complaints without a USSD session. It is on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Your own data charges apply.
Log into Ufone Self Care. The self care portal shows the number the account is registered to, along with usage and billing.
Call 333. The helpline can confirm the number you are calling from. Keep your CNIC to hand, because identity questions come before account details.
Check the SIM pack. The number is printed on the plastic card the SIM came out of. Obvious, and it is the one everybody throws away.
What checking and topping up actually costs
This is where the money quietly goes.
On every recharge, 15 per cent advance income tax is deducted. Load Rs 100 and roughly Rs 85 reaches your balance. That deduction is not lost money if you file a tax return, because advance income tax is adjustable against your annual liability. Most prepaid users never claim it. Our mobile load tax calculator shows what a given load is worth after tax, and our income tax calculator shows the return it feeds into.
On usage, sales tax applies where it is chargeable. It comes off as you use the balance rather than at the moment of recharge, which is why a Rs 100 card never buys Rs 100 of calls.
Out of bundle data is charged at Rs 2.75 plus tax per MB. That is the number that turns a forgotten bundle expiry into a Rs 500 evening. Dial *706# before you assume you are still inside a bundle.
UShare: the balance transfer rules
Dial *828*recipient number*amount# and reply 1 to confirm. For example, *828*03331234567*50#.
- Charge: Rs 4.78 a transaction
- Minimum: Rs 10. Maximum: Rs 600 a transaction
- Daily limit: four transfers a day
- Eligibility: you must have consumed more than Rs 150 of balance
- Both SIMs must be biometrically verified under PTA rules
- Transferred balance expires at the end of the recipient's current validity period and does not extend that validity
That last point is the one that catches people. Sending Rs 500 to a SIM whose validity ends tomorrow does not buy the SIM another month. It buys tomorrow.
UAdvance: what the loan really costs
Dial *456# from a prepaid number when your balance is finished.
- Amounts available: Rs 20, 30, 40, 50 or 60, depending on eligibility
- Service charge: 30 per cent including tax. Take Rs 60 and Rs 78 comes off your next recharge
- Only one advance can be outstanding at a time, and it must be cleared before you can borrow again
- Eligibility is decided automatically from how long you have been on the network, your recharge history and your usage pattern. You cannot argue your way into it
- Only customers who have exhausted their balance qualify
- If you move to postpay, any outstanding advance must be settled first
Put 30 per cent in perspective. On a loan that lasts until your next top-up, often two or three days, 30 per cent is an extraordinarily expensive way to borrow Rs 60. Useful once in an emergency. Ruinous as a monthly habit: taken twice a month all year, the fees alone come to about Rs 432.
Six mistakes that cost Ufone users money
- Dialling codes from a forwarded message. If it is not on ufone.com, do not dial it. Some short codes subscribe you to a paid service on the first press, and the charge appears as a balance deduction you cannot trace.
- Checking the balance ten times a day. Use the app. It reads the same data without a USSD session.
- Ignoring the 15 per cent advance income tax. If you file a return, it is claimable. On Rs 1,000 a month of loads, that is roughly Rs 1,800 a year you are leaving with the government.
- Letting a bundle lapse without checking
*706#. Out of bundle data at Rs 2.75 plus tax per MB is about Rs 2,816 per GB, roughly twenty times the in bundle rate. - Using UAdvance routinely. At 30 per cent, it is the most expensive rupee on your bill.
- Buying a used handset without checking the IMEI. A blocked or altered IMEI will not register on any Pakistani network, whatever the seller says. Dial
*#06#to get the IMEI, then check it with PTA on 8484 before you pay. Our PTA tax calculator prices what registering an imported handset will cost you.
If your SIM stops working
Two causes account for most of it. Either the SIM is not biometrically verified, in which case a Ufone Service Centre with your original CNIC fixes it, or the handset IMEI is not PTA compliant, which no amount of calling 333 will solve.
If the problem is the network rather than the SIM, Ufone's own complaint route comes first: the network complaint form or 333. Only after that has failed does PTA take a complaint, and the rules on when and how are in our guide to filing a PTA complaint.
If you are on another network
The codes differ on every network, and so do the transfer charges and loan fees. We have the same breakdown for Zong and for Telenor.
