Xpeng's G9L, a large electric SUV the Chinese brand calls its next-generation "AI flagship", will be launched in Pakistan next month, the company said at the Pakistan launch of its L03 range-extender car, ProPakistani reported on Tuesday. No Pakistan price, variant list or powertrain has been announced.

That last point matters most for buyers here: in China the G9L is sold as a range-extender with a 1.5-litre petrol generator, and in Europe as a pure electric car. Which one Pakistan gets, or whether it gets both, decides how practical it is outside the big cities.

What it costs elsewhere

MarketLaunch priceIn rupees (rough)
Germany€74,600about Rs 2.31 crore
France€74,990about Rs 2.32 crore
ChinaRMB 231,800 (limited-time, then RMB 309,800)

The rupee column only converts the European price at today's euro rate of Rs 309.41 on our EUR to PKR page; the Pakistan price will depend on import duties and taxes, which differ sharply between fully electric and petrol-assisted cars. For comparison, the BYD Sealion 7 sells here from Rs 1.549 crore and the Deepal S07 from Rs 1.4999 crore on our car prices list.

The key specifications (European car)

  • Size: 5,120 mm long with a 3,100 mm wheelbase, six or seven seats in Europe.
  • Battery: 110 kWh.
  • Range (WLTP): up to 591 km for the rear-wheel-drive Long Range (270 kW, about 362 hp) and 553 km for the all-wheel-drive Performance (430 kW, about 577 hp, 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds).
  • Charging: 800-volt system, up to 540 kW on a DC fast charger, 10 to 80% in as little as 11.7 minutes where such a charger exists; up to 22 kW on AC.
  • China's range-extender: up to 435 km on electricity alone and up to 1,602 km combined (CLTC).
  • Kit: rear-wheel steering, air suspension, a 21.4-inch rear screen, an 88-inch augmented-reality head-up display and nine airbags in the European version.

What to know before you wait for it

  • Charging in Pakistan: check where the nearest fast charger is before you commit to a pure electric version; a range-extender version would not depend on one.
  • Driver assistance: Xpeng's advanced driving features depend on local rules and the Pakistan specification, the company says, so do not assume the Chinese self-driving functions will work here.
  • Running cost: use our fuel cost calculator for a petrol comparison at today's petrol price.
