Pakistan's sovereign crypto wallet company gets four independent directors
The cabinet committee on state-owned enterprises also named new PSO board members, activated a Clean Environment Fund company and deferred a pharma export council.
The Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises (CCoSOEs) on Monday 26 October 2026 approved four independent directors for the board of the Strategic Digital Wallet Company, the state company set up to manage, safeguard and administer Pakistan's sovereign virtual assets, Business Recorder reported, citing an official press release. ProPakistani also reported the decision.
The committee met at the Finance Division under Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. The summary for the wallet company came from the Finance Division. The names of the four directors were not given.
Why the digital wallet company matters
A sovereign wallet company is the government's vehicle for holding crypto and other virtual assets it owns, with its own board and controls rather than sitting inside a ministry. A board is the step that lets it start work. Bitcoin was at about $80,400 at today's reading; follow it on our bitcoin price page.
