PM Youth Programme US healthcare jobs: a letter of intent for medical billing, no applications yet

The Prime Minister's Youth Programme (PMYP) has signed a letter of intent with Physicians Revenue Group (PRG) to set up a "PMYP United States Secretariat for Healthcare Services Cooperation", aimed at creating jobs for young Pakistanis in the US healthcare services trade, ARY News reported on Thursday 22 October. The signing at the Prime Minister's Office in Islamabad was witnessed by PMYP chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, with PMYP Director General Dr Shahbaz Shamsi and PRG Pakistan chairman and CEO Mansoor Ahmed present.

What the jobs are

The secretariat is meant to link Pakistani institutions with US healthcare providers, universities, professional bodies and the Pakistani-American medical community. The work it targets is back-office and technology work done for US clinics and hospitals, not clinical work:

• healthcare administration
• medical and dental billing
• revenue cycle management (getting doctors and hospitals paid by insurers)
• care coordination
• healthcare technology

It also plans industry standards for Pakistan's medical billing sector that match US rules on data protection, privacy and compliance, which matter because US patient records are tightly regulated.

What has not been announced

• No number of jobs or training places
• No application form, portal or eligibility rules
• No start date, city or budget
• No word on whether the work is remote or office-based

A focal person, a secretariat coordinator and a joint working group are still to be appointed. A letter of intent is a statement of plans, not a hiring contract.

Be careful with "registration" messages. Anyone asking for a fee, your CNIC copy or bank details to "register" you for these US jobs is not acting on this announcement. Wait for a notice on PMYP's own website or the government's official channels.
