Unregistered private schools in Rawalpindi have one week to submit their documents and complete registration, or their premises will be sealed, the district's school registration authority decided at a meeting on Friday 23 October 2026, ProPakistani reported. That puts the deadline at about Friday 30 October.

The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Social Services) Fazail Mudassar.

Key facts

  • Deadline: one week from 23 October, so about 30 October 2026
  • Penalty: unregistered premises sealed
  • New schools: 34 of 35 applicants cleared, subject to IT and science lab certificates
  • Safety: 300 private and 143 government schools given a week to fix problems

What was decided

  • Seven days to register: private institutions running without registration must file the required documents and meet the legal conditions within a week. After that, unregistered premises will be sealed.
  • Fines for summer breaches: schools that broke government directives during the summer vacation will be fined.
  • New schools: 35 newly established private institutions applied. One was rejected for incomplete papers, and the other 34 will be registered only once they submit IT lab and science lab certificates.
  • Building checks: a third-party evaluation of structural safety will be carried out under a committee headed by the ADC (Social Services).

The safety survey

District Education Authority CEO Yasin Khan Baloch told the meeting that the education authority is surveying schools for safety and dangerous buildings. According to the report, around 7,000 private and 1,300 government schools are on the list, the survey of about 5,000 has been completed, and 300 private and 143 government schools have been told to complete safety measures within a week.

One member of the authority, Javed Khan, asked the ADC to stop notices from the Tehsil Municipal Administration that demand schools pay to commercialise their buildings during the safety audits.

What it means for parents

If your child's school is new or operates from a house, ask the administration for its registration certificate before paying the next term's fee. A sealed campus can leave students without classes in the middle of the year, and an unregistered school may not be able to send pupils to board exams.

For school and university costs, our CGPA calculator can help, and the schools directory for Rawalpindi lists registered schools in the city.
