Sindh links all education boards with NADRA: verified degrees on the Pak ID app, free of charge
Sindh is the first province to plug every board into NADRA's system, which the government says will stop fake degrees and proxy candidates in exams.
Sindh boards join NADRA's system
Sindh has become the first province to link all its education boards with NADRA, under an agreement signed on Monday 12 October 2026, ProPakistani reported. The signing was attended by Sindh's Minister for Universities Ismail Rahoo, NADRA's Director General and the chairmen of the province's boards.
Sindh has matric and intermediate boards in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas and Shaheed Benazirabad.
What changes for students
- Degrees on your phone. Students will be able to get their verified degrees through NADRA's Pak ID app, so an employer or university can check a certificate without a trip to the board office.
- No fee for boards. NADRA's Director General said the integration will be given to every board free of charge.
- Fewer fakes and proxies. Rahoo said linking candidates' records to NADRA's database will help stop fake degrees and proxy candidates, where someone sits a paper for another student, and will make exams more transparent.
- Digital records. The link is also meant to move academic records into digital form.
What is not known yet
The announcement did not give a start date, say which years of results will be available on Pak ID first, or explain whether the boards' own verification counters and fees will change. Until the boards publish their own instructions, students who need a verified certificate for a job or admission should keep using the board's existing verification process.
Why it matters
Fake and tampered certificates have long been a problem in government hiring and admissions, and verification can take weeks when it depends on letters between offices. Putting board records behind the national identity system means a check could, in time, take minutes. The other provinces' boards have not announced similar agreements.
