Tottenham beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night, only their second Premier League win there in 35 visits, after goalkeeper Mike Penders punched the ball into his own net and Mathys Tel added a solo goal, Sky Sports reported. Cole Palmer was sent off for a second yellow card in the 80th minute. The match kicked off at 5:30pm UK time, 9:30pm in Pakistan.

Chelsea vs Tottenham: the key moments

MinuteWhat happened
77'Mike Penders (Chelsea) punches the ball into his own net, 0-1
80'Cole Palmer (Chelsea) sent off, second yellow card
87'Mathys Tel scores a solo goal, 0-2

Spurs dominated the first half, with about 70% of the ball, and should have led before the break when Omar Marmoush wasted a big chance from close range. Sky Sports noted that Palmer had earlier escaped a straight red card before the second booking ended his night.

Why it went wrong for Chelsea

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso chose to play without a recognised striker with Joao Pedro injured. The 19-year-old winger Geovany Quenda made his first start and Morgan Rogers played through the middle, with the experienced Danny Welbeck left out of that role. Chelsea created little against a Tottenham side that, under Roberto De Zerbi, has now won twice in six days.

For Spurs the result matters beyond the derby: they had won only one of their previous 34 Premier League visits to Chelsea, and two wins in a week ease talk of a third season in the bottom half.
