Airlink to launch Air EV electric bikes on 4 November, deliveries a week later
The smartphone assembler is moving into two-wheelers with replaceable batteries, buy-now-pay-later financing through Airfin, and a plan to make up to 95% of the bike in Pakistan.
Air Link Communication Limited (Airlink), the Lahore-based smartphone assembler and distributor, plans to launch its electric bike brand, Air EV, on 4 November 2026, with deliveries expected to begin about a week after launch, Business Recorder reported on Tuesday. The details come from a research note by brokerage Arif Habib Limited (AHL), written after Airlink's annual general meeting.
Models, prices and range have not been announced. We will add them when Airlink publishes them at the launch.
Air EV: what we know so far
- Launch: 4 November 2026.
- Deliveries: about one week after launch.
- Batteries: replaceable lithium-ion packs, bought locally at first.
- Sourcing: bikes will first come from international partners on price, then move step by step to local assembly and manufacturing, with a target of up to 95% local content over time.
- Financing: Airlink's Airfin arm already offers buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) instalments on smartphones, televisions and air conditioners, and will extend them to electric bikes.
Airlink first announced plans for an electric bike plant under its own brand in July, Business Recorder said.
Why replaceable batteries matter
A removable pack can usually be carried indoors and charged at home, which suits flats and houses without parking next to a plug. It also means a worn-out battery can be replaced without replacing the bike. How much a spare pack will cost is one of the numbers to watch at the launch.

A crowded electric bike market
Air EV arrives as several companies chase the same buyers. OKLA launched nine electric bikes and scooters in September priced from Rs 199,000 to Rs 699,000, and Millat is entering the market with swappable batteries too. The federal government's draft EV policy 2025-30 proposes an Rs 80,000 subsidy on electric bikes, and Punjab is running its own e-bike scheme.
The rest of Airlink's plans
According to the AHL note, management expects BNPL to support net margins and make up for slower mobile phone sales. The brokerage projects Airlink will sell 65,000 air conditioners in 2027 and 95,000 in 2028, and 50,000 televisions in 2027 and 65,000 in 2028.
Airlink was set up in January 2014 and became a public limited company in April 2019. It imports, assembles and distributes smartphones, tablets and laptop accessories.
