Maaz Sadaqat's 49-ball 112 sends Jamaica Kingsmen into CPL 2026 Qualifier 2

Pakistan's Maaz Sadaqat smashed 112 off 49 balls to knock Barbados Tridents out of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 and send Jamaica Kingsmen into Qualifier 2. The 21-year-old from Peshawar reached three figures in 44 balls and became the youngest centurion in CPL history, according to the league.

The Eliminator was played at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown on Wednesday evening, 16 September, local time, which was early Thursday morning in Pakistan.

How the match went

Kingsmen sent Barbados in and had them in deep trouble at 30 for 5. Quinton de Kock and captain Chris Green, who finished unbeaten on 57, rebuilt with a 114-run stand for the sixth wicket to give the home side something to defend.

It was not nearly enough. Sadaqat, a left-hander, went after the bowling and the chase was effectively over by the end of the powerplay. Kirk McKenzie was 22 not out at the finish. Reports said Sadaqat's stand with McKenzie was the highest for any wicket this season.

Who is Maaz Sadaqat?

Born on 15 May 2005 in Peshawar, Sadaqat is a left-handed batter who also bowls left-arm spin. He has played for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Khan Research Laboratories, and made his PSL debut for Peshawar Zalmi in 2025. He was player of the series at the 2025 Asia Cup Rising Stars with 258 runs and 7 wickets.

He made his ODI debut for Pakistan against Bangladesh in March 2026, and was player of the match in the second ODI of that series with 75 and 3 for 23. He has played five ODIs so far. After the win, he credited the backing of the Kingsmen management and said he stuck to his natural game.

A 21-year-old taking apart a CPL attack in a knockout game is strong evidence for Pakistan's white-ball selectors, who are looking for fearless top-order batters. Kingsmen's squad also includes Pakistan opener Saim Ayub, who joined the team late after the Test series in England.
