The gold price in Pakistan today rose Rs 13,900 to Rs 426,036 per tola on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), as reported by Business Recorder. On Tuesday the rate had held unchanged at Rs 412,136.

It is the largest single-day move in weeks, and it comes four days after the rate fell to Rs 409,736 a tola on 31 October.

Today's sarafa rates

ItemRateChange
Gold, 1 tolaRs 426,036+Rs 13,900
Gold, 10 gramsRs 365,257+Rs 11,917
Silver, 1 tolaRs 5,663+Rs 295
International gold, 1 ounce$4,035+$139

The local rate followed the international price, which the association put at $4,035 an ounce, up $139 on the day. Pakistan's sarafa rate is set off the world price plus a local premium, so a jump abroad reaches the bazaar in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi the same day.

What it costs a buyer

For a family buying wedding jewellery this winter, the one-day rise adds up quickly:

  • 1 tola: Rs 13,900 more than on Tuesday, before making charges.
  • 5 tola set: about Rs 2,130,180 at today's rate, Rs 69,500 more than a day earlier.
  • 10 tola: about Rs 4,260,360, up Rs 139,000.

Jewellers add making charges and, for 22 or 21 karat pieces, price by purity, so the bill at the counter will differ. Our gold converter turns tola, grams and karat into rupees, and the gold price page keeps the daily readings and history.

Silver and zakat

Silver rose Rs 295 to Rs 5,663 a tola. Because the zakat nisab is often worked out on silver (52.5 tola), a move in silver changes the threshold too. The zakat calculator uses the current rates.

Why the rates move

World gold prices swing on the US dollar, interest rate expectations and how nervous markets are. Wednesday was a heavy day on world markets after the US midterm results, with Asian shares down sharply (our markets report). The rupee barely moved against the dollar on the day, so the local rise reflects the jump in the world price.

Sarafa rates are announced once or twice a day and can reverse quickly. Anyone selling old gold should compare at least two jewellers, and buyers should ask for a written receipt showing weight, karat and making charge.
