The federal Daanish Schools Authority has opened admissions for the 2027 academic year at its schools in Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, ProPakistani reported on Wednesday 21 October 2026. Places are open in classes 6, 7 and 8, and the education is free.

Key dates

What a place includes

The schools run under the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training and admit only deserving students, selected on merit. A student who wins a place gets, free of charge:

• tuition
• boarding (accommodation on campus)
• meals
• uniforms
• textbooks

The schools have computer and science laboratories.

How to apply

1. Download the admission form from the Daanish Schools Authority's official website.
2. Fill it in and attach every document the form lists.
3. Submit it before 12 November 2026.
4. Prepare your child for the entrance test on 12 December; selection is on merit in the test and the interview.

The announcement does not set out the age limits, seats per campus or test centres. Read the instructions printed on the form before you apply, and call the school you are applying to if anything is unclear.

Tips for the entrance test

The test is the main filter, so use the seven weeks between the deadline and the test well. Revise the current class's English, mathematics and science textbooks, and practise timed papers so your child is used to working against the clock. Keep a copy of the submitted form and any receipt in case you need to follow up with the school.

Need a B-form first?

Most school admissions in Pakistan ask for the child's B-form (Child Registration Certificate). If your child does not have one, apply now so it arrives before the deadline: NADRA accepts applications at its centres and through the Pak ID app. Our NADRA fee calculator shows the current fees.

Punjab's Daanish schools

The Punjab Daanish Schools, run by the provincial authority, have their own admission schedule. This announcement covers only the federal schools in Islamabad, GB and AJK. For more school and board news, see our education section.
