Who it helps
China is one of Pakistan's busiest corridors for students, traders and workers on CPEC projects. A direct weekly flight from Islamabad gives travellers from the twin cities a non-stop option to the Chinese capital.
- Students at Chinese universities can plan term travel around the Friday departure.
- Traders sourcing goods in China gain a direct link to Beijing and, with Air China, onward to other cities.
- CPEC staff get a national-carrier option to the Chinese capital.
Part of a busy month for PIA
The China restart comes as PIA rebuilds its network under new ownership. It is adding four aircraft by January 2027, and its Islamabad to Birmingham flights start on 1 December.
