Marco Bezzecchi won the Indonesian MotoGP at Mandalika on Sunday 11 October, beating fellow Aprilia rider Raul Fernandez by 4.26 seconds over 27 laps, Al Jazeera reported. It was the 300th MotoGP win by an Italian rider. The race ran in the early afternoon in Pakistan.

Jorge Martin finished third to make it an Aprilia one-two-three, and that was enough to take the championship lead back from Marc Marquez, who finished sixth on his Ducati.

Marquez had won Saturday's sprint, which put him top of the standings for the first time this season. A day later he lost it again. Martin, who dropped a lot of places at the start, said: "I did the maximum."

With five race weekends left, two points separate the top two, and Bezzecchi's win keeps him in touch at 46 behind.

Fernandez's ride

Fernandez started from the first pole position of his MotoGP career and finished second despite riding with two fractured fingers, an injury from the sprint, Al Jazeera reported.

Next up

The championship moves to Australia in two weeks. Grand Prix races in Australia usually run in the morning in Pakistan, which is six hours behind eastern Australia in late October.
