How the day went

The pitch helped the new ball, and Bangladesh used it well. Taskin Ahmed bowled Brandon King for 9 with a yorker in the fifth over, Hasan Mahmud had Kavem Hodge for 1 with an inswinger in the next, and Taskin trapped Joshua Da Silva lbw for 12 to leave West Indies 27-3 in the ninth over.

Jangoo and Wickham then rebuilt with a stand of 131 off 192 balls, surviving an edge that fell short of the fielders and another that flew past second slip. Wickham reached a maiden Test fifty from 123 balls before Hasan bowled him for 61.

After tea, the 29-year-old Jangoo brought up his second Test hundred by hitting Taijul Islam over long-off for six. Bad light stopped play twice before the umpires called stumps after 70 overs.

What next

Day two resumes with Jangoo and Greaves at the crease. Bangladesh need quick wickets with the second new ball to keep the series alive.
