LESCO shutdowns from today: 5 to 8 hours a day across 200 subdivisions in Lahore and nearby districts
Maintenance before winter means planned cuts, mostly between 9am and 4pm, in Johar Town, Model Town, DHA, Iqbal Town and more, plus Sheikhupura, Kasur and Okara.

The LESCO shutdown schedule for winter maintenance began on Monday, 26 October: the Lahore Electric Supply Company has started planned power cuts of five to seven hours a day, and up to eight hours in some areas, across about 200 urban and rural subdivisions, ProPakistani reported. Most cuts fall between 9am and 4pm.
Which areas are affected
Lahore: Allama Iqbal Town, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Shadman, Johar Town, Model Town, Defence (DHA), Cantt and Walton Road, plus the industrial and commercial belts around Raiwind, Manga Mandi, Sundar and Jubilee Town.
Nearby districts: parts of Sheikhupura (including Qila Sattar Shah and Atta Abad), Kasur, Okara, Muridke, Farooqabad, Hujra Shah Muqeem and Phool Nagar.
No end date or feeder-by-feeder list has been published. Shutdowns are announced by grid station, so the time in your street depends on which 11kV feeder supplies it.
Why the power is off
LESCO is working on its 132kV and 220kV grid stations and the 11kV feeders that run from them before winter: replacing worn conductors and insulators, trimming tree branches near high-voltage lines, overhauling grid stations and splitting overloaded feeders. Some field offices have reported late delivery of equipment and spare parts, which could slow restoration on some days.
How to plan your day
- Find your feeder name on your bill: it is printed near the reference number. Our guide to the LESCO duplicate bill shows where.
- Check the day's shutdown notice on LESCO's official Facebook page or by calling the 118 helpline with your reference number.
- Charge phones, power banks and UPS batteries the night before. Our battery backup calculator tells you how many hours your UPS will run a fan, lights and a router.
- Fill water tanks early, since motors will not run during the cut.
- Shops and workshops on the affected feeders should plan generator fuel; our fuel cost calculator works the litres into rupees.
