Real Madrid 4-1 RB Leipzig, Como 4-1 Man Utd, Bayern 2-2 Arsenal: Champions League results
Mbappe, Guler, Bernardo Silva and a Diomande stunner keep Madrid perfect before El Clasico, while Manchester United are humbled at Como. Every Wednesday score, and what comes next.
Real Madrid beat RB Leipzig 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night to make it three wins from three in the Champions League, the most searched match in Pakistan overnight. Elsewhere, Como thrashed Manchester United 4-1 in Italy and Bayern Munich and Arsenal drew 2-2 in the night's biggest clash. The late games kicked off at 12 midnight Pakistan time.
Real Madrid 4-1 RB Leipzig
José Mourinho's side were never in serious trouble after a tight opening half hour, in which Thibaut Courtois made a key save from Leipzig's Romulo Cardoso.
- Bernardo Silva opened the scoring from close range late in the first half, his first goal since joining Madrid this summer.
- Arda Guler made it 2-0 in the 52nd minute after a Kylian Mbappe header.
- Kylian Mbappe bent in the third from a Yan Diomande pass.
- Tidiam Gomis pulled one back for Leipzig when Dean Huijsen switched off.
- Yan Diomande, Madrid's record signing at a reported 140 million euros (about Rs 43.5 billion at today's euro rate), finished it with a volley into the top corner from a Brahim Diaz cross.
Vinicius Junior started on the left and was replaced by Diomande with about 20 minutes left. He is serving a four-match La Liga ban and cannot play again until 4 November, so he misses Sunday's El Clasico against Barcelona, who lost 4-2 to PSG on Tuesday. Federico Valverde played at right-back again. Madrid's next Champions League game is away to AEK Athens on 4 November.
