GTA 6 pre-load starts 10 November: you need up to 212GB free on PS5 and Xbox

Grand Theft Auto VI can be pre-loaded from Tuesday 10 November 2026, nine days before its 19 November launch, and the download will need up to 212GB of free space depending on your console, Rockstar Games confirmed on Tuesday (Rockstar Newswire). Pre-loading is open only to players who have pre-ordered.

GTA 6 pre-load time in Pakistan

Sony's PlayStation Blog says PS5 owners should clear "a minimum of 212GB". On PS5, local midnight follows your account's region, so a player using a UAE or UK account will see it open at that country's midnight instead.

Clear the space now

A standard PS5 has about 667GB of usable storage, so GTA 6 alone takes roughly a third of it. If your console is full of older games, delete or move them before the 10th rather than on the night. A Pakistan connection that averages 20 Mbps would take more than 23 hours to pull 212GB, so starting the pre-load on day one matters more here than in countries with faster broadband. Keep the console in rest mode with downloads allowed so it continues overnight.

If you are on a capped home internet plan, check your monthly limit first: 212GB is more than many plans allow in a month.

Digital only, $79.99

GTA 6 launches on 19 November for $79.99, digital download only, The Verge reported. Boxed copies contain only a download code, so even a disc from a shop in Hafeez Centre or Saddar still means the full download. We worked out what that costs in rupees, with bank card charges, in GTA 6 price in Pakistan, and the launch trailer and 6pm PKT release time are in our earlier story.

There is still no PC date. Rockstar has not confirmed one, and GTA Online for the new game is not coming at launch.
